Interns are an invaluable part of our team and work across all areas undertaking a range of tasks and responsibilities. Our interns have the opportunity to develop a range of skills including research, organising events and database management.

Our fundraising team is responsible for raising charitable funds for NSN from a range of sources, including individual donors, trusts and foundations, and businesses. The Advisory Team works with groups that are interested in setting up a free school. It provides advice and support throughout the process of compiling an application for the Department of Education.

Candidates need to demonstrate the following skills

— Impressive communication skills – our interns communicate with a great variety of individuals and groups in person, over the phone and in writing.

— Attention to detail – our interns will need to complete both written and data-related tasks with precision, ensuring accuracy and coherence across all of their work.

— Professionalism – our interns need to be able to represent NSN in a professional and appropriate manner in any situation.

— Excellent organisational skills – our interns need to be able to prioritise their workload and manage their time efficiently.

— Enthusiasm – our interns must be passionate about education, support the free schools programme and able to thrive in this fast moving policy environment.

— Adaptability – our interns are asked to use their initiative, work across our teams and complete a wide variety of projects.

— Discretion – our interns will be expected to handle confidential information with due care and responsibility.

Familiarity with SalesForce, Highrise or other databases would be an advantage, as would an understanding of working on event management and in charities and/or the educational sector.

We are looking for outstanding candidates to take on this exciting and varied role. It presents the opportunity to support the implementation of this flagship government policy and to engage with those excited by the opportunity to improve education in England.
